Gerizim


Gerizim
A mountain in Samaria where Jotham spoke a parable [[➝ parables]] (Judg. 9:7) and which was a focus for Samaritan [[➝ Samaritans]] worship and therefore an alternative to Jerusalem (John 4:20). Their own temple had been destroyed by John Hyrcanus in 128 BCE.
